About Mei Yi Foo

​

Winner of the 2013 BBC Music Magazine’s Best Newcomer award, Mei Yi Foo is recognised internationally as an innovative pianist with a diverse and eclectic repertoire. A prolific concert soloist, Mei Yi has appeared with orchestras worldwide, garnering rave reviews from The Times, Independent, Guardian and more.

Guest Judges

Seung Jae Chung

(Korea)

Seung Jae Chung received bachelor’s degree at Seoul National University, nd master’s and doctoral degree at Manhattan School of Music. He has received commissions from Tongyeong International Music Festival, TIMF Ensemble and others.

 

Chung served as a director of electronic music studio at Manhattan School of Music from 1998 to 2000. Currently he is a president of ACL-Korea (Asian Composers League Korea) and professor of department of music at Sangmyung University

Hoh Chung Shih

(Singapore)

Dr Hoh Chung Shih is a composer from Singapore with an emerging international presence with commissions and requests from Asia, Europe and America. He has worked with some of world’s premier contemporary musicians.

He is also a guqin (Chinese 7-string zither) player, sound artist and an interdisciplinary researcher.

 

Hoh is currently the president of the Composers Society of Singapore.
